How about signing for some workshop that has small groups? Like, doing stuff you like. This way its easier to find people with common intetests. Noisy party with many dancing people sounds like too overwhelming place to make friends.

Maybe you have social anxiety. Symptoms include: 1 - feeling anxious in crowded places or when you have to speak in public 2 - thinking other people are talking about you or laughing at you 3 - feeling nervous about social interactions in general Look up the symptoms, if you relate to those, you could look for professional help. Social anxiety responds very well to therapy (more to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and to medication, if they are necessary. But in the long run you will have to get used to social interactions, and that means you will have to get out more and talk to people more. I went through that, took medication for a while and am still doing therapy. My advice to you is: don't push yourself too hard. Start with small steps and do more as you feel comfortable. Making too much of a big move can backfire and make you even more afraid of social interactions.

See the answer is simple. Exposure therapy. What you have to do is first find a hobby that you actually enjoy and know a little about and then get better at it with practice. Then I want you to find the community that does what your hobby is. (Could be car modification. Woodworking. Dancing. Gardening. All of that stuff.) Talk to them. When you get to this stage. Just listen to them for some time. Then you'll automatically learn to talk and interact based on your experience and experiments in the field.

Been there. I forced myself to be in very uncomfortable settings so I would get use to it and learn how to behave better, more normally. It worked mostly after years of effort and missteps . It's better then staying clueless forever.

Have you tried working? Nothing big, just a Summer job for a few months to make some extra money and meet new people you won’t be able to get yourself rid from. I used to be like that too, when I turned 15 I began working in a water park, I worked in retail so I got to interact with new people every day I had work. It will be hard at first but knowing how to talk with people, even of the most trivial stuff will serve you well later on.

Be brave. Try things you don't usually do and embrace every failure that comes with it. I'm similar back then, I grew up fixing computers so most conversations I have are mostly around... computers. I was a fresh grad and Interviews terrified me. To get myself prepared, I always tried to talk to random people but it always gets awkward because I'm trying too hard. I then went to the bar that I regularly go to, talked to the owner if he can help me out and ask him a favor for work. So he gave me a job as a bartender's assistant to a bartender. I was supposed to stay only for 6 months but I lasted 2 years. As I make conversations I realized that everyone is going through their own life. And what I am doesn't matter to them now or after a month. I then stopped looking at myself negatively, because most people are not looking at me like that. Even if they are, negative perception of me will fade eventually. So keep trying, DGAF about what people say, and try not to hurt their feelings.

I think you just need to get that XP. It'll build your confidence and then talking to people will come more naturally. How do you do this? Well, you've got to take the risk and start talking to people. Don't worry about what people will think of you. If they don't like the interaction with you, move on it's their loss and there are many other people out there who will appreciate you. Eventually it'll become easier.

Start talking with people online make some friends or even talk to someone you know. Just sit and have a conversation. I know its difficult but you gotta be brave.

Yeah in real life, you cant just press E to interact. You have to talk... Being able to stand an interesting conversation isnt easy. Just fail at it with some People to improve.

I had similar problems for a long time, until someone game me one advice: people are mirrors. If you seem uncomfortable, they will be too. Start small, talk to people you know, or ask strangers for the way or something like that. Then work your way up to bigger conversations. If that doesnt help, try SSRIs, even though they are antidepressents they help with social anxiety. If you need more advice talk to me. See it as your first lesson in communication :)

I'll talk to you if you want and if you want to improve with talking to people what I did (and still do) is go to very far places and talk to the people there and say whatever is on my mind since I'm only gonna see them once unless we become friends
